Wildflower Magic – The Playful Butterflies.

Original oil painting by Navy Sloth

Imagine stumbling across a wildflower meadow where the flowers have grown a little bigger, the colours are a little brighter and three cheeky butterflies have decided to make it their playground.

Wildflower Magic – The Playful Butterflies is a joyful, semi-abstract floral painting filled with oversized wildflowers, swaying grasses and three colourful butterflies dancing across the canvas.

I wanted this one to feel like stepping into a little world of its own — somewhere playful and slightly bonkers, where the flowers can grow wherever they please and butterflies flit about without a care in the world.

There’s lots of movement and colour here, but the softer pastel tones give the painting a gentler side too. The longer you look, the more little details begin to appear amongst the flowers and layers of colour.

For me, it’s about that wonderful feeling of being surrounded by nature and letting your imagination wander. Not a real meadow, exactly, but perhaps one you might discover if you took the long way home.

A little bit wild, a little bit dreamy and full of playful magic.
