Description

Lilac Haze

Original oil painting by Navy Sloth

There’s something wonderfully dreamy about a wildflower meadow when the flowers are slightly blurred, the colours seem to melt into one another and you can lose yourself in the view.

Lilac Haze is my hazy little escape into that feeling — a wild meadow full of soft lilacs, gentle colour and layers of texture that seem to drift in and out of focus.

I wanted this painting to feel a little like a memory. Not a perfectly clear one, but one of those lovely moments that stays with you because of how it made you feel — the warmth of the day, the movement of the flowers and that sense of being completely surrounded by nature.

There’s something wonderfully freeing about a wild meadow. No neat rows, no rules, nothing quite where you expect it to be. Just flowers growing wherever they please and a little bit of beautiful chaos.

Lilac Haze is a quiet escape into something wild and free — a little reminder to slow down, breathe and get lost in the beauty of nature for a while.
