Wildflower Bouquet is a beautiful, fun and vibrant contemporary floral painting created using a bold pallete of both oil paints and oil pens. There’s a lovely balance of delicately painted petals, illustrative outlines and wild botanical movements. The overall composition provides a bold statement of pure joy. I’ve been playing around with different techniques lately, and tried them out on some of the wildflowers. The sunflowers are more illustrative in style, created using oil pens in a block colour with complimentary outline. Whereas the poppies were also created using oil pens but with a squiggly freehand method. I left some of the petals transparent intentionally as it gives a contemporary quirkiness and sass. I hope whoever buys this gorgeous piece loves it as much as I love it, it really has given me great pleasure creating it.
