There’s something lovely about being given flowers.

It doesn’t have to be a special occasion. Sometimes a bunch of flowers on the kitchen table is enough to make you smile every time you walk past them.

Wildflower Bouquet is my colourful, slightly wild take on that feeling — like someone has gathered the most beautiful flowers they could find and bundled them together without worrying too much about whether they match.

Daisies, poppies, cornflowers and my own little wildflower shapes burst across the canvas, full of colour, texture and movement. Set against a soft blue background, the flowers seem to tumble and sway into one another, creating a bouquet that feels abundant, joyful and just a little bit unruly.

And perhaps that’s what I love about flowers. They don’t need to be perfect to be beautiful. A wonky stem, a flower growing at a funny angle, petals going wherever they please — somehow it all works.

This painting was inspired by that simple joy of giving and receiving flowers. That little moment when you bring them home, find the perfect spot and catch yourself smiling whenever you look at them.

Except these flowers won’t wilt.

Wildflower Bouquet is a celebration of colour, nature and that lovely feeling of having something beautiful in your home simply because it makes you happy. 🌸
