Wildflower Haze – Abstract Floral Oil Painting by Navy Sloth

Wildflower Haze is a delicate and captivating floral oil painting, created with a soft palette and a joyful abstract style. From start to finish, this piece was a pleasure to bring to life.

The background was built up using a palette knife, blending the sky and landscape in one seamless motion. I worked the canvas lengthways at first, then pulled the paint vertically to reveal beautiful textures and pockets of depth. While the paint was still thick and wet, I used the edge of the knife to carve in subtle botanical forms that gently frame the composition.

Once the base layer dried, I scattered oil paint droplets across the surface to create a dreamy field of abstract wildflowers. I then layered in my signature wildflower outlines, adding more droplets until the balance of texture and colour felt just right. With its soft complexity and playful energy, this painting invites you in and keeps you looking.
