Navy Sloth Paintings – Butterfly Kisses
Butterfly Kisses is a delicate mixed media piece. Created by combining cut out butterfly pieces of material and carefully selected shades of oil paint. Each butterfly has been meticulously placed on the canvas, creating an army of fluttering wings.
I created butterfly kisses after a butterfly was fluttering next to me in my studio. It took ages to coax it out of there and it remained outside the window for hours. I could have watched it all day, it was so beautiful and calming.
I had a great deal of fun creating this abstract painting, and love how the pastel shades of pinks, yellows, blue and neutral tones float accross the canvas.
